1:5 “The Reubenites and Gidites had a very large number of livestock. When they surveyed the lands of Jazer and Gilead, they saw that the region was a good one for livestock. So the Gadites and Reuberites came to Moses, the priest Eleazar, and the leaders of the community and said: ‘the territory of Atoroth, Dibun, Jazar, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo, and Beon, which the Lord struck down before the community of Israel, is good land for livestock, and your servants own livestock. They said, ‘if we have found favor with you, let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Don’t make us cross the Jordan.‘”
This reminded Moses of the first time Israel did not want to fight and God kept them in the woods, wandering for 40 yrs as a result of their sin. He explained this to them, and they agreed to fight, but once they won, they asked if they could come back to possess the land they were in. Moses and the community agreed.
What am I scared of doing, that God has put on my heart to do? How can I listen and move forward, doing God’s will in my life? I can keep my family in my home, but need to move forward with what he has called me to do.
